Hope everyone is having a great summer and found some ways to break from the heat.

We welcome Kathryn, Mei, and Sandra to our group which takes us over 100 members!!!!  Thanks so much and please encourage others to join to get up to 200 members.  

Updates:

-We joined the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) National Climate and Health Movement, .

-This initiative will broaden this national movement to mobilize health-related organizations, provide guidance and resources, and facilitate relationships across participating organizations.  See the attached flyer.

-We are going to increase AZHPCA LinkedIn Presence thanks to Vivian! 

- If you are active on LinkedIn please consider following our posts and be part of the conversation.

-We continue engagement with the Chief Heat Officer of Arizona Eugene Livar 

 -We are working on heat education and planning with ASU and other health professionals after taking a break this summer during the mitigation chaos of the heat season.  If you are interested in being a part of these meetings please let us know.
-We also are meeting to work on medication education for health professionals and centers relating to our patients on these medicines lacking resilience to heat.

- We have a donation button in the upper right corner of our home page now!!!  

-Donations go through our fiscal sponsor Unlimited Potential and will help us create a budget to better support what we all are doing.

Education information:

- Climate and Health Equity Webinar Series on August 9th 12-1300 Arizona time.

-Dr. Sacoby Wilson is a Professor and the Director of the T.H.E. EJ Lab with the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health (MIAEH) and Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Public Health, University of Maryland. He will address transportation in the context of environmental justice and explore the critical role of transportation in shaping our climate, health, and equity.

Republican candidates for the Arizona Corporation Commission position themselves in favor of utility rate increase, against clean energy standards

The Republican primary candidates running for three seats on the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) are aligning themselves with the work of the current Republican majority commission, including green-lighting utility rate hikes and slashing renewable-energy rules.
